Pin Sym Foong, a PhD graduate of NUS-HCI, gave her talk last Friday, February 1st 2019 at 11 am in the lab.
Her topic was “What do academic writing and Toy Story (1995) have in common? Pre-writing and structure in academic papers. “
This talk/workshop is about the mental formulation of structure in an academic paper, pre-writing (preparation and gathering information to write about), and then about 3 approaches to getting started on the structure of the paper that I find personally useful. It’s not about grammar or formats of academic writing, but higher level ideas about telling the research story.
